A statue of Mary, mother of God housed in a farm shrine built by a German Catholic with salvaged bricks he brought from my brother-in-law's derelict milk house located near the Wisconsin River near Saulk City Wisconsin. My wife's family were German Protestant. Their Evangelical United Brethren congregation devoted Reformation Sunday to attending sermons denouncing the Pope as the Anti-Christ. The only connection between this photo and the following post is that this is the culture I grew up in, the background that led to the stories coming out of the class reunion that lead me to start a blog of bio tales.
Reminiscing with my classmates at our 50th class reunion, I was amazed to learn that we hadn't gone to the same high school. They had been more successful, more heroic, and more accepted than I; therefore the stories that follows are my version of what happened back then, or maybe they're just figments of my imagination. Names have been changed to protect against retaliation. Similarly, characters in the story are composites to further cover my trail.
Looking forward to hearing more. :)
